Canine Enrichment Program.

Are you looking for something more structured than free-play doggie daycare but less intensive than targeted training? Our Enrichment Program might be a good match! As an adjunct service to our training school, this program is overseen by canine trainers and designed to uphold an important part of The Reliable Dog mission: to help you integrate structure, balance, and happiness into your dog’s life.

Our Enrichment Program is based on structured socialization, physical exercise, mental stimulation, and supervised play. It is not an obedience-training program and it is designed for dogs without behavioral issues. If you’re looking for training and behavior modification, please check out our Day School and private lesson options.

Activities in our Enrichment Program can include:

Social

  • Pack walks

  • Supervised play with dogs hand-selected to complement your dog’s play style

  • Directed small-group activities: agility, obstacle course, ball time, and more

  • 1-on-1 interactions with staff

 Mental

  • Exercises for sensory engagement and enrichment

  • Scent games

  • Foraging activities (snuffle mat, hide the treat, ball pit, etc.)

  • Fit Paws

  • Tricks

  • Crate games

  • Luring games

Physical

  • Fit Paws

  • Solo and pack walks

  • Treadmill

  • Herding Ball

  • Fetch/Soccer

  • Flirt pole

  • Structured rest and relaxation

Hours

Monday-Thursday (we are not open on Fridays), drop-off between 730-9am, pick-up between 3-5pm. Drop-off and pick-up times are firm.

Requirements for enrollees

  • Up to date on rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordetella vaccinations

  • Up to date on flea and tick treatment

  • Minimum 6 months of age

  • Dogs must be potty-trained and crate-trained

  • Dogs must be able to walk on a loose leash

  • Must have completed a basic obedience program.

  • Absolutely no reactivity.

Application and enrollment

This is a boutique service aimed at supporting your dog’s physical, social, and mental development. A free, brief consult with a trainer is part of the application process, and required to ensure this program is the right fit. Spaces are limited so we can maintain a suitable staff-to-dog ratio. Therefore pre-registration for each day of attendance will be required.
